Our Story

Beatfeet was born from the shared passion and relentless drive of Nico de Beer and Michael Munro, a father-in-law and son-in-law duo hailing from Jeffreys Bay, South Africa.

Together, they’ve made it their mission to redefine the boundaries of musical instruments and unleash new creative possibilities for solo performers worldwide.

Michael, a man of many talents shaped by his military background, possesses an uncanny ability to build anything he sets his mind to.

Nico, a visionary always eager to push the envelope, has consistently challenged Michael to craft unconventional instruments for his live performances. Their journey began with cigar box and spade guitars, but in 2021, a pivotal moment arrived when Michael created Nico’s first basic electric kick drum pedal.

As the years passed, Nico’s vision expanded, and the idea of constructing a complete electric foot drum kit took hold. With unwavering determination, the first Beatfeet prototype was born. But perfection knows no shortcuts—the duo invested countless hours in brainstorming, conceptualizing, designing, programming, and rigorous testing to refine their creation. Through numerous iterations and an obsessive pursuit of excellence, they ironed out every kink to craft the ultimate foot drumming experience.

Beatfeet stands as a testament to Nico and Michael’s hard work, innovation, and shared passion.

They take immense pride in introducing this groundbreaking instrument to the world, confident that it will revolutionize solo performances and inspire musicians to explore uncharted creative territories. With Beatfeet, they aim to make foot drumming accessible to artists everywhere and firmly believe that their invention has the power to forever change the landscape of musical expression.

Through their unwavering commitment and relentless pursuit of innovation, Nico and Michael are poised to take foot drumming mainstream, leaving an indelible mark on the world of music. Join them on this exhilarating journey as they redefine what’s possible and empower solo performers to unleash their full creative potential with Beatfeet.
